As Global Head of Education at Google DeepMind, he democratizes access to transformative learning experiences in Computing and AI. He focuses on making AI knowledge accessible, diversifying the AI workforce, and creating impactful, personalized learning for students worldwide. His work has helped millions of students develop essential skills for a rapidly changing world. Obum was awarded an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) by HM The Queen for his work in 2022 and recognized as a top 10 UK’s Ethnic Minority tech leader by the Financial Times in 2019. He serves on the Governing Council of the University of Essex and is a Trustee of UK Youth.
